I have spent so far 7 days here at Rusutsu Resort and I must say it is great. Not that high altitude, not so vertical but the snow is absolutely fantastic and the forest runs are perfect. I stayed at Romolus Hotel which is a small family owned hotel 500 meters from the resort. Try the small local restaurants, even if they are hard to see that they actually are restaurants. Try out the new “Pirate Man” – great food. I promise you are going to enjoy Rustsu but do not expect any wild night-life.
